Essentials of Policy Advocacy for Grantmakers

Essentials of Policy Advocacy for Grantmakers will inspire you to begin or expand a public policy program within your foundations. Rather than focusing on what policies foundations should address, this training will focus on how to engage in policy advocacy that advances your organization's goals.
 
During this interactive two-day training, you will:

• Review legal rules governing grantmaker funding and actions;
• Hear from a panel of colleagues who are working with external partners and building support within their foundations;
• Explore how internal staff roles and external partnerships can support policy advocacy work;
• Network with peers who are developing and implementing their foundation’s advocacy strategy;
• Dive into real-world challenges during small group breakouts;
• Receive a template and other resources to create your own action plan.
