Foellinger Foundation has selected Sarah Strimmenos as its next President and CEO. She will begin her tenure in November 2023.

Strimmenos’ experience includes nine years in commercial banking at Old National Bank, where she has served as the Fort Wayne Market President since 2020. She also served on the board of directors for the Old National Bank Foundation. Before her career in banking, she worked as a CPA with a special interest in foundation work for 20 years.

Her involvement with Foellinger Foundation began 25 years ago when she was assigned to conduct the Foundation’s audit as an auditor with a CPA firm. Strimmenos managed the annual audit for ten years, after which she joined the Foundation’s audit committee. Her service to the Foundation also includes nine years on the board of directors.

Michael C. Moellering, Foellinger Foundation Board Chair, chaired the President and CEO Search Committee. The role of the Search Committee was to select a consultant, review recommendations from the consultant, conduct candidate interviews, and make a final recommendation to the Board of Directors. The Search Committee selected Kittleman & Associates, LLC to conduct a thorough search and objectively screen candidates.

“The Foundation staff and board of directors remain committed to operating under the Foellinger family’s values: integrity, accountability, responsibility, and results,” said Moellering. “A robust, national search was executed through the lens of these values. We are pleased to welcome Sarah into this role, whose longstanding commitment to leading the organization under these principles will ensure continuity for our organization and our grantees.”

“Since my first interaction with Foellinger Foundation 25 years ago, I have always admired and respected its commitment to following its donor intent,” said Strimmenos. “To have the greatest impact, we must keep a foothold in the past, with eyes focused to the future. I look forward to building strong relationships with the staff and our grantee partners—together, we are stewarding the Foellinger family’s legacy in this community.”

“It has been an honor to serve Foellinger Foundation during this transitional period,” said David Bennett, who has served as Interim President and CEO since October 2022. “We are excited to welcome Sarah’s visionary leadership as she carries forward the Foellinger family’s legacy to benefit Allen County residents.”

David Bennett will continue to serve as the Interim President and CEO through Strimmenos’ start date.
