On November 26th, the Community Foundation of Boone County staff traveled across the county to surprise ten Boone County nonprofits each with a $1,000 check. It was the first ever “CFBC: Day of Giving Back.” We dedicated the entire day to giving back to some of the amazing people who serve Boone County every day.

In seven hours, the community foundation poured $10,000 back into Boone County nonprofits to help them better serve others. The funds came from the Community Impact Unrestricted Fund at CFBC, which allows the foundation to award grants to meet needs within the community as they arise. The following nonprofits received $1,000 each: Sydney Foster Endowment Fund, We All Matter (WAM- Advance), Western Boone Junior/Senior High School Food Pantry, Sugar Creek Art Center, The Caring Center, Boone County Senior Services, Humane Society for Boone County, Boys & Girls Club of Boone County, SullivanMunce Cultural Center, and Friends of Boone County Trails.

“Thank you to our amazing donors for giving us the opportunity to surprise some of the local nonprofit organizations like this”, said Jodi Gietl, CFBC President & CEO. “Blessing others is what the holidays are all about!”
