The online giving event beginning at midnight – 11:59 PM at www.giveforgoodlouisville.org hopes to surpass last year’s total of $4.6 million raised in 24 hours.
There is an increase in the Bonus & Prize Pool available to participating nonprofit organizations this year. A total of more than $340,000 in bonus and prize money is available, an increase of more than $50,000 from last year.
This year there are even more reasons to give to Southern Indiana nonprofits thanks to the support of three Southern Indiana-based foundations.
The Community Foundation of Southern Indiana is offering a $20,000 proportionate match for Southern Indiana-based participating nonprofits based in Clark and Floyd counties.
The Bales Foundation is offering a $10,000 proportionate match to organizations based in Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties.
The Horseshoe Foundation is offering a $10,000 proportionate match to organizations based in Floyd county.
Organizations based in these counties will be eligible to receive a proportionate share of the these match pools based on their overall amount of dollars raised, excluding other bonus or prizes they may receive. (e.g. 5% of the funds raised in S. Indiana = 5% of the corresponding proportionate match pool.)
Cara Baribeau, the Community Foundation's vice president of marketing and communications and Give For Good Louisville project lead says the support of the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, Bales Foundation, and Horseshoe Foundation amplifies the excitement and engagement on both sides of the river on this special day.
Linda Speed, president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana said, “CFSI is proud to support Give For Good Louisville and the good it does in Southern Indiana. We know how hard organizations throughout our community work to address our region’s needs and make this wonderful place to call home. Supporting Give For Good Louisville gives us an opportunity to energize our community around philanthropy, increase the impact our grants have in Clark and Floyd counties, and help great Southern Indiana organizations do more.”
“The Horseshoe Foundation directors are excited to highlight and encourage philanthropic giving in our community by offering this $10,000 proportionate match,” said Jerry K. Finn, executive director, Horseshoe Foundation.
The community is encouraged to come out to the Give For Good Louisville Midday Nonprofit Rally at 4th Street Live from 11:30 – 1:00 to celebrate the nonprofit community.
