IndianaMOM Free Dental Event: May 12 and 13
On May 12 and 13 the Indiana Mission of Mercy (IMOM), will hold a FREE dental clinic at the Indiana State fairgrounds. Their goal is to treat 2,000 people who cannot afford or access dental care. Two hundred volunteer dentists will provide preventive, restorative or urgent dental treatment. They will be able to repair or add teeth to partials and dentures but are not able to construct full dentures. However, they will make referrals to low-cost or free dental clinics for patients needing dentures.
IMOM will begin at 7:00 am, and patients will be seen on a first come, first served basis. They recommend that patients arrive early, and be prepared to wait. The Fairgrounds is allowing patients to wait in an adjacent building if weather is inclement, but they recommend that they bring water, snacks, and other comfort items. Patients will receive a medical screening, and navigators will be available to help eligible patients sign up for SNAP, and/or health benefits. They will also recive home dental care items, and resource guides to find local social services.
IMOM is trying to reach the people who most need these services, and ask your help in distributing the following flyers: ENGLISH, SPANISH. Translators of several languages will be on-site. Please be sure that your staff that are uninsured or under-insured know that they are welcome to access these services.
