Indiana Philanthropy Alliance is pleased to announce the addition of Kristen Bitzegaio as its new engagement manager.

Kristen Shares Her Take On Indiana Philanthropy

"I truly believe that when philanthropy is at its best, we're seeing humanity at its best. There's no better way to see the good in the world than to see philanthropy working to its full potential.

I always knew that Indiana was special when it came to our philanthropic landscape, but I don't think I truly appreciated it until I worked in philanthropy in other parts of the country. Now I have a deep understanding of the impact that philanthropy in Indiana can have on the entire sector. It's an honor to be a part of a team that helps to keep Indiana at the forefront of American philanthropy."

Kristen will support IPA’s mission by working closely with the Mutz Philanthropic Leadership Institute, membership engagement, and public policy initiatives.

"Kristen’s deep experience in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, and community engagement makes her a perfect fit for IPA," said Maddison Miller, IPA vice president of external relations. "Her expertise and passion for fostering connections will help strengthen our network and advance philanthropy across Indiana."

Before joining IPA, Kristen served as executive director for Zionsville Alliance for Mental Wellness, where she championed mental health awareness and education. Her career also includes experience as a nonprofit and philanthropic consultant, as well as leading grantmaking and community leadership initiatives at a community foundation in South Carolina. While working in South Carolina, Kristen led philanthropic initiatives related to disaster relief & recovery, local journalism, placemaking through arts & culture, rural communities, nonprofit employee mental healthcare, and trust-based grantmaking.

Kristen holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Ball State University. She resides in Zionsville with her husband, Ryan, their two sons, and their Saint Berdoodle, Muncie.
