The Hendricks County Community Foundation Awards Grant to the Indiana Diaper Bank

The Hendricks County Community Foundation (HCCF) recently awarded a $5,000 Community Impact grant to the Indiana Diaper Bank. This funding will support the Indiana Diaper Bank's crucial efforts to provide diapering supplies to families in Hendricks County experiencing diaper need.

This grant will empower the Indiana Diaper Bank, in partnership with Hendricks County WIC, to distribute over 22,000 diapers and 500 packages of wipes to families in need. These supplies are critical in alleviating diaper need—a growing yet often overlooked public health and employment issue impacting many families in our community.

“Diapers are a basic necessity, yet one in two U.S. families struggles to afford them,” said Ashley Burns, CEO at Indiana Diaper Bank. “This generous support from the Hendricks County Community Foundation makes it possible for us to serve more families and ensure that babies in our community remain healthy and happy.”

This grant was one of 24 awarded this year to local nonprofits by the Community Foundation in Round 1 of their Community Impact Grantmaking program, totaling over $81,000. Community Impact grants are funded through unrestricted funds, or Community Enhancement Funds, at HCCF.

From now until December 2025, gifts made to unrestricted Community Enhancement Funds at HCCF are eligible for a $3 to $1 match. This extraordinary match is made possible by the continued support of Lilly Endowment Inc., and the remarkable generosity of an anonymous donor. This means that every dollar contributed will be multiplied fourfold, significantly increasing the resources available to support local grants and initiatives.
