Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne Releases Updated Community Dashboard

The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne (CFGFW) has released updated data on its Community Dashboard, offering an insightful snapshot of Allen County’s progress across five key pillars of community life.

Part of the ongoing Let’s Rise! Vision Plan, the Community Dashboard is an interactive online tool designed to help residents, nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses understand local trends and work collaboratively toward lasting, data-informed solutions.

“The Community Dashboard reflects both our aspirations and challenges as a community,” said President and CEO Brad Little. “Each data point provides an opportunity for conversation, innovation, and action.”

Key updates to the Dashboard include:

• Connected Community: Fort Wayne ranks 101 out of 150 major metro areas on the National Racial Equity Index, offering a new benchmark for measuring inclusive community outcomes.
• Inspiring Places: 87% of Allen County residents report they can easily access green spaces near where they live—a strong indicator of local livability and wellbeing.
• Everyone’s Economy: The average cost of a home in Allen County in 2023 was $227,000, exceeding by $67,000 what a median-income renter can afford, highlighting growing housing affordability concerns.
• Lifelong Learning: 33% of Allen County residents held a bachelor’s degree or higher in 2023, up from 29% in 2018—signaling progress in educational attainment.
• Healthy Mind and Body: The population-to-primary care physician ratio is now 1,354:1, reflecting improved access to care over the past five years.

These data points aim to inspire action and foster cross-sector collaboration, providing a shared framework for addressing the region’s most pressing needs and opportunities.
