Indiana has the seventh-highest vaping rate and the eighth-highest smoking rate in the U.S., factors leading to serious health and economic costs for Hoosiers and the state. Join the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation for a compelling discussion about smoking and vaping in Indiana, including: Findings from the Fairbanks Foundation’s recent reports, including the “hidden tax” of smoking to Hoosier employers, tobacco’s overall impact on Indiana’s economy, the projected impact of a cigarette tax increase, and the vaping epidemic in Indiana. Insight into the State’s work to address youth smoking and vaping. Details about how some Indiana counties are using their public health dollars from the state to address and combat tobacco use in their local communities. This free event will provide education, resources, and an opportunity to discuss smoking and vaping in Indiana.
