Horizons: JFF's National Summit
This is a free virtual conference.
COVID-19 is taking the lives of Americans and disrupting the fabric of work, education, and daily living for the entire nation—but it is disproportionately affecting people of color. The latest findings from Strada Education Network’s Public Viewpoint survey examine how the lives of people across different racial and ethnic groups have been disrupted through lost jobs and changed or canceled education.
As part of the JFF Horizons national summit on building an equitable economic recovery, join us for a discussion with researchers and experts to not only better understand these disruptions, but also Americans’ future plans for education and training, where they will turn for advice about it, and what disparities and differences exist across racial and ethnic groups. Joining as guest panelists will be:
- Walter Bumphus, president and CEO of the American Association of Community Colleges, the primary advocacy organization for the nation’s community colleges.
- Aimée Eubanks Davis, founder and CEO of Braven, which helps underrepresented young people build the skills, confidence, experiences, and networks necessary to transition from college to strong first jobs.
- Miles Pendleton, a rising senior at the University of Miami in Florida and a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholar who is pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance, political science, and Africana Studies.
Over the last two months, Strada Center for Consumer Insights has surveyed more than 10,000 Americans to gain first-hand insight into the impact of the pandemic on individuals' lives, work, and education.
