United Way NWI, NiSource, WorkOne To Unveil Economic Mobile Unit

United Way Northwest Indiana, WorkOne Center of Workforce Innovations and NiSource officials started the engine on the new Economic Mobile Unit, a newly furnished van that will contain computers, networking equipment and more to take economic development resources directly to participants. Those resources can help Region residents get access to new education and employment opportunities which can help break the cycle of poverty trapping many people.

The mobile unit was purchased and fitted thanks to a $100,000 donation from NiSource

“The United Way Northwest Indiana is focused on helping more residents reach financial stability and building their own futures, and these kinds of partnerships with NiSource and WorkOne go a long way in helping us help many more people,” said United Way NWI President/CEO Adam O’Doherty.
