Community Foundation DeKalb County Announces Q4 Grant Awards

The Community Foundation of DeKalb County has awarded its 4th quarter grants to 14 organizations for a total of $53,278. All organizations are either located in or provide services in DeKalb County.

Quarter 4 Grants Awarded:

• American Red Cross of NE IN - $5,000 for services in DeKalb County
• JAM Center - $3,000 for JAM Connect 2023-2024
• DeKalb County Eastern CSD (Riverdale Elementary) - $4,798 for 2023 LETRS Training
• YWCA NE IN - $7,500 for services for DeKalb County survivors of domestic and sexual violence
• DeKalb Humane Society - $4,480 for outdoor amenities for physical and behavioral rehabilitation
• Big Brothers Big Sisters of NE IN - $3,000 2024 site-based School Buddies Youth Mentoring operational support
• Long Term Care Ombudsman Program of NE IN – $5,000 for advocacy for low-income patients in long-term care facilities in DeKalb County
• JA serving East Central DeKalb County - $2,500 for K-4 elementary programming
• JA serving Garrett - $2,500 for K-12 programming
• The BookStart Fund - $1,000 for 2023 operational support
• YMCA of Dekalb County - $5,000 for Early Learning Program parent engagement and supplies
• City of Butler - $5,000 for the 2023 Southside Park rebuild
• Dr. Bill Lewis Center for Children - $3,000 mental health treatment for child victims of alleged abuse
• Eckhart Library - $1,500 for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program

The Foundation accepts proposals from nonprofit organizations every quarter through a competitive process. Applicants can find more information about the grants and submit proposals through the Community Foundation’s grant portal located on their website at www.cfdekalb.org. Applications for the 1st quarter 2024 are due January 1, 2024. Grant proposals submitted after the quarterly due dates will be considered for the following quarter.
