Ashby Promoted to Arts Commission Program Director
The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) announced today that Eric Ashby has been promoted to Director of Programs. Ashby previously served as the Grants and Research Manager for the IAC.
As Director of Programs, Ashby will ensure that IAC programs and services provide demonstrable public benefit to Indiana’s people and communities. The Director of Programs establishes policy, direction, standards, and measures for the Programs Department and supports Programs staff.
In his previous role as Grants and Research Manager, Ashby was responsible for overseeing the agency’s granting programs and processes, data and research priorities, and state and federal programmatic compliance. Ashby has previously worked at the Indiana University Center for Rural Engagement, building engagement frameworks and programs to improve quality of place through arts and creativity. Additionally, he worked as a project manager for the Arts Administration Program and Dean’s Office at the O’Neill School at Indiana University and served as a project specialist with Bridgeway Capital, supporting efforts to track and support small creative business development. Outside of work, Eric is a drummer and has been playing since the age of 3.
Ashby holds a B.S. in Arts Management as well as an M.A. in Arts Administration and a Masters of Public Affairs from the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University, Bloomington.
