Foellinger Foundation announces that it has awarded Lifeline Youth & Family Services a $25,000 Innovative Rapid Grant. AWS Foundation announces that it has awarded Crosswinds Counseling a $25,000 Emergency Funding Grant.

The grants will be used to provide mental health support and emotional wellness checks to staff members of nonprofit organizations who provide health and human services to the residents of Allen County, and to AWS Foundation grantees and partners across their 11-county service area.

These counseling sessions, available at no cost, are provided remotely by Crosswinds staff through a secure computer, tablet or smartphone application.

“While many of us are working from home or sheltered in place, the services of many nonprofits continue within our community. Those on the front line, and their families, have their own anxieties, fears and stressors. This grant will support them in their ongoing services, often to the most vulnerable. This is a true example of ‘helping the helpers’,” said Patti Hays, CEO, AWS Foundation.

“Helene Foellinger’s vision for the Foundation was that its resources should be directed towards ‘helping people help themselves to in turn help others.’ Nonprofit organizations and their staffs embody the resilient, courageous spirit of our community. Their emotional wellbeing allows them to perform at their best at this vital time,” said Cheryl Taylor, President, Foellinger Foundation.

Lifeline Youth & Family Services and Crosswinds are sister organizations under the Lasting Change umbrella. Lifeline will partner with Crosswinds to deliver the counseling services.

“Our mission is to change hearts and bring hope to individuals, families and communities; there is no better time for our services to be used than right now. We look forward to strengthening the staff and organizations who are working hard each day to serve people in our community” said Mark Terrell, CEO, Lasting Change.
