2020 White Family Grant Cycle-Deadline Extended to July 15, 2020

Due to the immediate challenges and uncertainty of the longer-term impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the White Family Grant Cycle deadline has been pushed out to July 15, 2020. We anticipate grant awards to be made in the Fall 2020.

At this time, the application criteria remains the same:

The purpose of the White Family Foundation Fund, a fund of the Hancock County Community Foundation, is to assist local community development and support initiatives that enhance the desire to live, work and play in Shirley, Indiana and nearby surrounding communities.

Eligible projects may include, but are not limited to beautification projects, building façade improvements, recreational enhancements and accessibility, public safety and transportation. Eligible applicants must serve Shirley, Indiana and nearby surrounding communities which may include but are not limited to Wilkinson, Knightstown, Charlottesville, Kennard, Carthage, Willow Branch, Greensboro, and Grant City.

The application can be accessed on our online grant portal.

2020 Annual Grant Cycle
The Hancock County Community Foundation application process halted to focus resources on emergency response.

The Annual Grant Cycle was launched in early February in a different health and economic climate than what we face today. Due to the unexpected challenges expressed by many of our nonprofits locally over the last couple of weeks, we are postponing the 2020 Annual Grant Cycle indefinitely and working on ways to directly and proactively respond to immediate needs related to COVID-19.

Any applications submitted for the Annual Grant Cycle as of 4:30 p.m. on March 17, 2020 will be evaluated within the context of current events; the interview/site visit component has been eliminated. We will communication grant decisions soon. Any applications that are started but incomplete will not be evaluated at this time. As of now, we anticipate a return to the normal Annual Grant Cycle process in 2021.
