Community Foundation Announces New Board Members and Officers

The Community Foundation of Southern Indiana (CFSI) announced today the 2019-2020 board of directors and has appointed David Hussung as chairperson. Hussung will succeed outgoing chairperson, Bill White.

Amy Letke (Integrity HR), Laura Muncy (arc) and S. Butch Shaw (Monroe Shine CPAs) began their terms on the board; replacing outgoing members Bill Hanson and Phillip Beaman who fulfilled two, three-year terms of service to the Foundation and their community.

Linda Speed, president and CEO of the Community Foundation said, “Thanks to our community’s support and the leadership of our board, our Foundation continues to grow and thrive. This past year we granted more than $5 million in grants and scholarships and helped people across the community establish charitable funds to accomplish their philanthropic goals. Amy, Laura and Butch bring important experience to our Foundation and will help us continue to move the Foundation forward so we can positively impact our community.”

The Community Foundation’s officers for 2019-2020 are:

  • Chair – David Hussung, Hussung Mechanical Contractors
  • Vice Chair – Lisa Brones Huber, Duke Energy
  • Treasurer – Adam Naville, WesBanco Bank
  • Secretary – Sharon Handy, Seiler Waterman LLC
  • Immediate Past-Chair - Bill White, Commerce Bank

Returning members of the board include: J. Terrence Cody, Floyd County Judge; Jay Conner, MWM Advisory Services; Melissa Fry, Indiana University Southeast; Barb Geltmaker, retired from Horizon Wealth Management; Mike Johnson, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.; Damon Massey, Stock Yards Bank and Trust; Larry Ricke, Ricke & Associates; Sue Sanders retired; Catherine Sherrard, Ivy Tech Community College; J. Scott Waters, Waters, Tyler, Hofmann & Scott, LLC; Bob Woosley, Heritage Engineering.

Speed continued, “I’m incredibly thankful for the leadership that Bill and Phillip showed during their time on the board. During their service the Foundation reached new milestones and transformed our grantmaking and the impact we have on this community. As we continue to move forward, having continuity, experience, and new ideas in the Foundation’s leadership will be important as we focus on better meeting the needs of our community and continuing to be this region’s trusted partner, resource and steward in philanthropy.”
