Marissa Manlove to retire as Indiana Philanthropy Alliance CEO
(Indianapolis, Indiana) Indiana Philanthropy Alliance (IPA) Board of Directors announced that Marissa Manlove, president and CEO, will retire at the end of 2018 after 12 years leading the organization.
“We applaud Marissa’s successful leadership,” said Tina Gridiron, IPA Board Chair. We wish her much joy and fulfillment as she transitions into the next step in her journey.”
As a passionate advocate for philanthropy, Manlove has served as IPA’s president and CEO since January, 2007. She leaves IPA in a strong financial position and with more members than in the organization’s 28-year history. During her tenure, IPA has gained prominence as a key voice on behalf of philanthropy with policymakers and other community leaders across the state. Marissa’s extraordinary leadership has also positioned IPA as a national leader among regional associations of grantmakers.
Prior to joining IPA, Manlove spent almost 30 years with Noble, a nonprofit organization based in Indianapolis providing services and supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
“Of course, I have mixed emotions about leaving such a transformational organization for philanthropy in Indiana,” Manlove stated. “However, after more than 40 years serving the nonprofit sector, I’m looking forward to this new chapter with my family and grandkids, and continuing my volunteer passions.”
The IPA Board has engaged the firm of Smith and Syberg to assist with the search for a new CEO.
