Applications Available for Heritage Fund Organizational Excellence Request for Proposal

(Columbus, Indiana) Applications are now available for the 2018 Heritage Fund Organizational Excellence Request for Proposal (RFP). The goal of the RFP is to support nonprofits serving Bartholomew County in their efforts to grow organizational capacity and achieve programmatic and operational excellence.  Heritage Fund has allocated up to $100,000 for this grant program.  An organization may seek funding for activities including (but not limited to):

  • Strategic planning
  • Board and/or leadership development
  • Communications strategy
  • Fundraising planning
  • Network and IT systems improvement
  • Succession planning
  • Productivity improvements

Grant applications will be accepted until April 2, 2018, with grant award decisions made in early May. Please visit the HFBC website (www.heritagefundbc.org) to access the application, grant guidelines and submission details.

Background

In 2017, Heritage Fund launched the Organizational Excellence grant program to take a more active role in strengthening local nonprofits. The Organizational Excellence grant program was developed to make it easier for nonprofits to receive grants to improve effectiveness, make good operations better, and support the functions that are necessary to create and maintain strong programs.

Heritage Fund – The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County was formed as a community foundation in 1976 with the purpose of continuing a legacy of giving by providing an opportunity for all citizens to make gifts and establish charitable funds to benefit the local community. It was created primarily to:  provide responsible stewardship of gifts donated for broad charitable purposes; promote leadership to address community issues; serve as a catalyst for positive change in partnership with others; and promote philanthropy broadly within the community.
