COLUMBUS, IN – Heritage Fund’s Women’s Giving Circle of Bartholomew County announces the launch of an exciting new project to inspire young girls through literature.

Turning the Page … For Girls in Bartholomew County will provide books, including biographies of empowering women and stories featuring strong female characters, to area elementary school libraries. Titles to be purchased include “Almost Astronauts: 13 women who dared to dream” by Tanya Stone; “Amazing Women” by Caryn Jenner and “Rad American Women A-Z” by Kate Schatz.

The goal is to raise $5,000 for the purchase of the new books, selected by Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation administrators, as titles that will captivate and encourage young readers. You can be an inspiration to young girls in our community by making a gift to the project. Gifts may be made online by visiting the Heritage Fund website at https://www.heritagefundbc.org/donate/ . Type “Turning the Page” in the first field and select the full description from the dropdown list.

Kristin Munn, Heritage Fund’s director of development, said Turning the Page is important because it helps fill the need for young girls to have strong female role models and to see themselves represented positively in literature.

“The Women’s Giving Circle is so excited about the opportunity to partner with our local schools and build a lasting collection of books that will inspire and empower young readers for years to come,” Munn said.
