If you are thinking about college, but are concerned about the cost, Education Matters Southern Indiana (EMSI) wants to help. Educations Matters Southern Indiana has many options to help adults return to college and complete a degree or certification. The time to decide is now because many scholarships require that you register for the summer term. If you live in Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Scott and Washington Counties in Indiana, you can apply for these opportunities for financial assistance.

Western Governors University Indiana and Education Matters Southern Indiana (EMSI) will supply at least 50 tuition certificates to Southern Indiana residents interested in enrolling in the online university. The certificates, worth $500 each, will be funded by both organizations as they seek to encourage educational attainment in the region.

Adult Scholarships are available for adult residents in each county who have completed some college credit toward an associate’s or baccalaureate degree. Scholarships may be used for tuition, books and fees. You must be at least 25 years old.

Hand Up Scholarships are available through WorkOne for those who are seeking a degree or certification in a high-demand occupational area and are willing and capable to complete a degree or certification in two years or less. Applicants must be currently employed.

Residents of Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Scott, and Washington counties should register online at www.EducationMattersSI.org.
