Women's Giving Circle of Bartholomew County Celebrates 'Women in Leadership'
Heritage Fund is pleased to announce the 2020 Annual Meeting of the Women's Giving Circle of Bartholomew County this month.
Featuring the theme of "Women in Leadership," this year's virtual event will include a Q/A with Nancy Ann (Brown) Poynter, Columbus' first female mayor, and the presentation of research completed by the WGC on the status of leadership for women in Bartholomew County. The meeting is scheduled for noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28 on Zoom.
WGC, a program of Heritage Fund, raises funds for grants to benefit women, children and families throughout Bartholomew County. The mission of the WGC is to educate, connect and inspire women to practice strategic philanthropy, using their collective strengths and financial resources to create positive change in Bartholomew County. Since its founding in 2010, more than $140,000 in grants have been awarded to improve the lives of women and families in Bartholomew County.
The recipient of the 2020 Women's Giving Circle Grant also will be announced during the meeting. Members of the WGC selected COVID-19 relief as their top priority grant initiative for the year. The $10,000 grant in unrestricted operating funds will be presented to one not-for profit organization in Bartholomew County engaging in efforts to positively impact women and children.
Community members are invited to attend the free event. Please email kgeckler@heritagefundbc.org to RSVP and to receive the Zoom link.
