Wayne County Foundation 2018 spring grant cycle

Tuesday, February 20, 2018

The Wayne County Foundation is pleased to announce the schedule for its 2018 Spring Grant Cycle. This is an opportunity for charitable organizations to receive funding for projects, programs and initiatives that help improve the quality of life and enhance the spirit of the Wayne County community.

Applications for the Spring Cycle are a two-part process and must be submitted through the Foundation’s online application portal. The pre-application will open Monday, February 26, 2018, and close at 11:30 pm on March 9, 2018. The second part of the application is due 11:30 pm on Friday, March 30, 2018. The Foundation expects to award up to $100,000 from its unrestricted funds and more than $190,000 from various field-of-interest funds in this cycle.

Field-Of-Interest Funds support applications that address needs and opportunities related to: animal welfare, the arts, education and literacy, the environment, and human service assistance. The Foundation will also accept human service-related applications for funds that benefit the Hagerstown community.

First-time applicants and those who have not been successful with any previous online application are required to contact the Foundation’s program officer, Lisa Bates, prior to applying. Additional information is available by calling the Foundation office at 765-962-1638, emailing lisa@waynecountyfoundation.org, or visiting the Foundation’s website, www.waynecountyfoundation.org.

Last year, the Foundation awarded more than $357,000 in its Spring grant cycle and the Challenge Match Initiative. All of the Foundation’s community grantmaking is made possible by income from unrestricted and field-of-interest endowments which were established by generous donors.
