Tragesser and Grogan Luttrull Receive Award Recognizing Study in Arts Entrepreneurship

Thursday, November 7, 2019

Indiana Arts Commission Artist and Community Services Manager Anna Tragesser and Minerva Financial Arts Founder Elaine Grogan Luttrull received the Gary Beckman Research Impact Award for their presentation “Assessing On-Ramp Outcomes” from the Society for Arts Entrepreneurship Education at the 2019 SAEE Conference.

The Gary Beckman Research Award recognizes researchers who have completed or nearly completed research studies focusing on arts entrepreneurship and can demonstrate how their findings impact the field of arts entrepreneurship.

Funded by Indiana Arts Commission, the On-Ramp study measured the self-reported growth of individuals before and after the On-Ramp Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator. Attendees reported the most growth in knowledge (expert or pretty informed in key areas), action (always or usually take action in key areas), control (control or some control in key areas), and metrics (always or sometimes use metrics to track key areas). To read the results summary, click here.

“Like most creatives, I have experienced stress relating to financial knowledge, business law, marketing skills, and overall personal confidence in my perceived value in society as a creative. Course leader Elaine Grogan Luttrull’s uniquely specific creative entrepreneur teachings have alleviated those fears. My toolbox was topped off with access to a powerful diverse artist network among my fellow classmates; who mutually vowed to provide future support and accountability.” – Olivia Ulch, On-Ramp Participant

Over an intensive three-day course, On-Ramp covers ten key areas of entrepreneurship and finance using course instructor Elaine Grogan Luttrull’s Creative Entrepreneur Canvas Framework

Anna Tragesser is the Artist and Community Services Manager at the Indiana Arts Commission.
