Suzie Light recognized for 25 years of service to community foundation

The Kosciusko County Community Foundation’s Board of Directors is pleased to recognize Suzie Light on her 25th anniversary of employment with the Community Foundation.

Light joined the Community Foundation on August 7, 1993 as the Assistant Director and was promoted to Executive Director in 1995. She now serves as the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer.

During Suzie’s tenure, the Community Foundation’s assets have grown from just over $400,000 to over $50 million. Suzie has led the Community Foundation in the development of a diverse board of directors, strong donor base and best practices in investing and grantmaking as evidenced by the Community Foundation’s achievement of National Standards for US Community Foundations.

“Suzie’s commitment to the development and well-being of Kosciusko County is evident in her dedication to the betterment of the citizens of our community,” said Community Foundation Board President, Sally Mahnken. “Suzie has faithfully serve the Kosciusko County Community Foundation, always looking ahead to see how she, and the Board of Directors, can better assist the community to grow and prosper.”

In addition to her responsibilities as the Community Foundation’s Executive Director, Suzie serves on the nonprofit boards of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Orthopedic Capital Foundation, OrthoWorx and Ancilla College.

Suzie and her husband, Steve, reside in Warsaw. They are the parents of two adult children and the proud grandparents of a granddaughter.
