Students in a trade or vocational program can apply for Miles’ Fund scholarship

Tuesday, March 19, 2019

Students in a trade or vocational program can apply for Miles’ Fund scholarship.

Construction, plumbing, machining, cosmetology, maintenance, and other trade and vocational jobs are in high demand, and people who wish to work in these fields need specialized training to succeed in today’s economy.

To help people who are interested in trade or vocational programs receive the training they need to have fulfilling careers, the Harrison County Community Foundation offers the Miles’ Fund scholarship. The scholarship application is available at www.hccfindiana.org in the Scholarships area. Applications must be submitted online by Sunday, March 31 at 4 p.m. to be considered.

Applicants must be between 18 and 21 years of age and legal residents of Harrison County, and they must be planning to study in a vocational or trade program. Preference is given to students who have not received funding in previous application cycles.

The Miles’ Fund scholarship can be used for tuition, books, course-related fees, required tools, uniforms or supplies. Tools, uniforms and supplies must be verified by the student’s course syllabus and class schedule.

For more information about the Miles’ Fund scholarship, contact Heather Stafford, Director of Programs, at 812-738-6668 or heathers@hccfindiana.org
