Starke County Community Foundation Grants Support First Responders

The Starke County Community Foundation's Ambassadors Club presented a series of pop-up grants to local first responders yesterday!

SCCF Ambassador Club Members Dave Altman & Cheryl Orkis provided a $1,000 grant check to Hamlet Police Chief Clint Norem, Starke County Sheriff Jack Rosa and Justice Center Jail Commander Austin Fletcher, Starke County EMS Director Jim Garner, Knox Police Detective Kenny Pfost, North Judson Town Marshal Kelly Fisher and NJPD Officer Brian Menke. Knox Police Chief Harold Smith, who was unavailable the day of the ambassador club presentation is pictured with SCCF Director of Development Jacque Ryan on the following day.

The SCCF Ambassadors Club presented pop-up grants to local fire departments earlier this year and wanted to continue showing their appreciation for the professionals who dedicate their lives to helping others and keeping our communities safe with these end-of-year pop-up grants

In addition to Orkis and Altman, the SCCF Ambassadors Club consists of Barbara McLaughlin, Cherry Gumz, Becky Pflugshaupt, Suzy Bishop, Marilyn Wickert and Jennifer Gappa.
