Mooresville High School is proud to announce the receipt of a generous grant from the Community Foundation of Morgan County to establish a Student Resource Center on its campus. This grant underscores the Foundation’s commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and supporting student success within the community.

The creation of the Student Resource Center is a significant milestone for Mooresville High School, as it will serve as a vital hub for academic support, mental health resources, collaboration, and enrichment for students and staff alike. The grant, awarded in recognition of the school's dedication to student achievement, will enable the transformation of an existing space into a dynamic learning environment tailored to meet the diverse needs of the student body. “We really want to create a welcoming space for all students to receive whatever type of support it is that they need. Our Student Support Center will build a space where students can support other students and, hopefully, in the process, reduce some of the stigma associated with asking for help in any capacity,” said Emily Roscoe, Mental Health Coordinator for Mooresville Schools.

With the receipt of the $10,000 grant, MHS will be able to purchase all materials necessary to transform an existing classroom into a flexible space including a variety of items including everything from furniture to a food and hygiene pantry. One of the primary objectives of the Student Resource Center is to provide a supportive and inclusive space for struggling learners. Equipped with resources and dedicated staff, this facility will offer personalized assistance, academic guidance, mental health support and pantry items to students seeking additional help in their studies and personal lives. By fostering a nurturing environment, Mooresville High School administrators aim to empower every student to achieve their full potential and succeed academically and emotionally.
