IPA Announces New 2024 Officers and Board Members, Honors Departing Members
IPA welcomes new officers and board members to its 2024 Board of Directors.
IPA President and CEO Claudia Cummings shared her enthusiasm: "With new leadership and fresh perspectives joining our board, IPA is poised for another impactful year. We are thrilled to welcome Jeff Small and Brienne Hooker into their new roles as Chair and Vice Chair, respectively, and are confident their leadership will significantly advance our mission."
Dedicated officers elected to steer the 2024 Board:
- Chair: Jeff Small, Vice President of Programs, Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust
- Vice Chair: Brienne Hooker, Executive Director, Jasper Newton Foundation
- Treasurer: Tim Murphy, Principal, Nonprofit Financial Solutions
- Secretary: Stephanie Overbey, CEO, Kosciusko County Community Foundation
"Indiana Philanthropy Alliance has worked diligently over the last three years to raise our collective voices in philanthropy and galvanize our connections," said Hooker. "I value that connection in my organization and as a Hoosier. I see a hopeful future of growth, education, and influence for IPA and its membership over the next few years."
Newly elected trustees to the 2024 Board:
- Clayton Boyles is the executive director at Dubois County Community Foundation. Boyles brings a wealth of experience from his role in nonprofit management and a deep commitment to community advocacy.
- Josh Daugherty is vice president and senior client advisor at Huntington Private Bank. Daugherty’s expertise in financial planning and wealth management and his dedication to philanthropy make him a valuable addition to the board.
- Charlotte Hawthorne is vice president of Lilly Foundation at Eli Lilly and Company. Hawthorne’s extensive experience in social impact and diversity leadership will further IPA’s mission in transformative ways.
The IPA Board also consists of returning members, each offering unique expertise and insights toward enhancing philanthropic efforts across Indiana.
During its December 2023 meeting, the board honored the contributions of departing members:
- Jill Carpenter is executive director at Community Foundation Alliance
- Cheryl Taylor is the owner of Taylor Leadership Consulting
- Shannon Borden is a director at Blue and Company Foundation
Outgoing IPA Board Chair and President of Unity Foundation of La Porte County, Maggi Spartz expressed profound gratitude: "As we bid farewell to Shannon, Cheryl, and Jill, we do so with immense gratitude. Their contributions have significantly strengthened IPA and enriched the philanthropic landscape of Indiana."
This transition marks a new chapter for IPA as it continues to champion, support, and connect its members in their pursuit of transforming Indiana through effective philanthropy.
