IPA Welcomes 2025 Board, Honors Retirees

Indiana Philanthropy Alliance is pleased to announce the appointment of four distinguished leaders to our 2025 Board of Directors.

“These leaders bring unique perspectives and a shared commitment to strengthening philanthropy across Indiana," said Claudia Cummings, President and CEO of IPA. "Their expertise will be invaluable as we work to empower grantmakers and advance the well-being of Hoosier communities.”

Dedicated officers elected to steer the 2025 IPA Board:

  • Chair: Jeff Small, VP of Programs, Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust
  • Vice Chair: Brienne Hooker, Executive Director, Jasper Newton Foundation
  • Treasurer: Josh Daugherty, Vice President and Senior Wealth Advisor, Huntington Bank
  • Secretary: Tina Peterson, President & CEO, Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County
  • Ex Officio: Peter McCown, President, Community Foundation of Elkhart County

Newly elected trustees to the 2025 IPA Board and IPA Foundation Board:

  1. Patti Hays, CEO of AWS Foundation, brings decades of experience in nonprofit and healthcare leadership. Patti’s dedication to supporting individuals with disabilities and her active community involvement make her an invaluable addition to the IPA Board.
  2. Roger Orth, chief administrative officer of Welborn Baptist Foundation, offers extensive expertise in financial management, compliance, and operational oversight. His leadership on the IPA Board will strengthen IPA’s strategic initiatives and operational excellence.
  3. Thomas Leedy, president of the Dekko Foundation and former IPA Vice Chair, returns to the IPA Board with a wealth of experience in youth development and nonprofit consulting. Tom’s deep understanding of philanthropy will further enhance IPA’s mission.
  4. Amy Streator, executive director of Ripley County Community Foundation and 2022 Mutz Philanthropic Leadership Institute alumnus, brings her passion for rural philanthropy and vibrant communities to the board. Amy’s legal and philanthropic background will enrich IPA’s efforts to address critical needs through her seat on the IPA Board.
  5. Ryan Brady, vice president of Glick Philanthropies has been appointed to the IPA Foundation Board. His expertise in strategic implementation and understanding of equitable housing solutions will offer IPA an enhanced understanding of these areas, allowing us to improve our programming and broader organizational efforts. 
  6. Dale White, CEO of Western Indiana Community Foundation, has been appointed to the IPA Foundation Board. His leadership and spiritual guidance have been transformational for residents in Vermillion and Fountain counties. Dale brings wisdom through decades of community-based philanthropy and a career supporting the social sector in rural communities.

The IPA Board also consists of returning members, each offering unique expertise and insights toward enhancing philanthropic efforts across Indiana.

“Access to [IPA] expertise has been a valuable part of our staff development and operations,” shared Hays. “It is an honor to serve IPA to help others in the growth and development of other philanthropy resources in the state.”
“This is a wonderful opportunity to amplify impact, foster collaboration, and drive meaningful change in our communities,” said Orth.
“I appreciate the opportunity to advance philanthropy across Indiana,” shared Leedy. “IPA has been an invaluable resource and support for the Dekko Foundation and many other grantmakers. I look forward to helping IPA lead change, enhance impact, and create better outcomes for Hoosiers.”
“As executive director of an Indiana community foundation, I have witnessed firsthand how IPA empowers our state's philanthropic field,” said Streator. “I am eager to collaborate with other passionate individuals to amplify the impact of philanthropy across the Hoosier State.” 

Departing Board Members

During its December 2024 meeting, the board honored the contributions of departing members:

  • Keira Amstutz, President & CEO, Indiana Humanities (IPA Foundation Board)
  • Maria Fruth, Retired CEO, Health Foundation of La Porte
  • Rich Haddad, President & CEO, K21 Health Foundation
  • Stephanie Overbey, CEO, Kosciusko County Community Foundation
  • Maggi Spartz, President, Unity Foundation
  • Jenna Wachtmann, Vice President, Ball Brothers Foundation
  • Tami Wenning, Executive Director, Decatur County Community Foundation

This transition marks a new chapter for IPA, which continues to champion, support, and connect its members in their pursuit of transforming Indiana through effective philanthropy.
