Heritage Fund Awards More Than $138K to Local Nonprofits
Heritage Fund recently awarded $138,442 in grants from the Community Fund to local nonprofit organizations as part of its fourth-quarter grants cycle for 2022.
Grant recipients are:
- Su Casa Columbus – $31,010.33 to support Taylorsville program pilot in 2023
- Columbus Economic Development Corporation – $28,000 to support community delegation to Myoshi, Japan in 2023
- Bartholomew County Public Library – $22,963 over two years to support the Growing Readers program for children
- Servants at Work – $19,350 to support ramp builds for disabled Bartholomew County residents
- The Arc of Bartholomew County – $15,000 to support CommCard Program pilot to facilitate effective communication between professionals and people who experience communication difficulties or other disabilities
- IUPUC – $12,119.32 to support the iEngage summer civics camp program for Grades 5-8
- Reins to Recovery – $10,000 to support increase in services
Through the generous support of community members, HFBC annually distributes approximately $600,000 to $700,000 in grants to local nonprofits from the unrestricted Community Fund. Community Fund grants help HFBC to meet emerging needs in Bartholomew County in the areas of Youth Development, Substance Abuse, Neighborhood Revitalization, Innovation and Creativity and Welcoming Community.
In addition to these Community Fund grants, other grants awarded this quarter include:
- REACH Columbus, Inc. – $3,000 to support equipment purchases for new location
- NAACP of Bartholomew County – $3,000 to support Black History Month activities
- Purdue University Polytechnic Institute – $2,000 to support student registrations for Boiler Tech Challenge
- Turning Point Domestic Violence Services – $3,000 to support client needs
