The Hendricks County Community Foundation (HCCF) is opening grant applications for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds on June 5th as a part of its plan to distribute up to $6.6 million in ARPA funds to nonprofits serving Hendricks county. The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 is a $1.9 trillion economic stimulus bill to speed up the country's recovery from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing recession. The funding Hendricks County received is part of the $350 billion to help state, local, and tribal governments bridge budget shortfalls and mitigate the fiscal shock of the pandemic.

In 2022 HCCF designed a grant application process to distribute up to $6.6 million of these funds, $5.5 million of which was allocated in the same year. In 2023, the second year of ARPA grants, the HCCF Program Committee recommended competitive grants of approximately $564,000 for 24 community organizations that help make Hendricks County a great place to live, work and play. Applications for the last grant cycle will open on the Community Foundation's website on June 5, 2024.

“We were pleased to partner with county officials during the first two years of ARPA grantmaking, and are excited to see how the third round of grants this year will fuel and expand capacity for even more local nonprofits creating positive change in our community,” said William Rhodehamel, President & CEO of the Community Foundation.
