After more than seven years of service, Tom Kilian, President of Hamilton County Community Foundation (HCCF) and IMPACT Central Indiana, has announced his departure. His final day with the foundation will be Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Kilian has accepted a distinguished new role with a national foundation, where he will continue his commitment to philanthropy and community impact.

Under Kilian’s leadership, HCCF has experienced tremendous growth and success, positioning itself as a transformative force in Hamilton County and beyond. Since his appointment in the spring of 2017, the foundation has increased its assets from $46 million to $133 million, launched a comprehensive strategic plan, and developed key partnerships to drive community connectivity in behavioral health, food insecurity, and housing. In addition, Kilian spearheaded the creation of the Non-Profit Collaboration Hub and founded IMPACT Central Indiana, which has deployed over $15 million into local communities. His efforts have significantly expanded the foundation's ability to address critical needs and dismantle systems that hinder equity and inclusion.

This year, Kilian led the foundation in developing a community needs assessment that paved the way for a reinvigorated strategic plan that will be launched in early 2025.

"Tom has been an exceptional leader whose vision and commitment have fundamentally reshaped HCCF and its role in the community. His legacy is one of growth, collaboration, and compassion. We are grateful for his service and wish him great success in his new role. Danielle Stiles-Polk is the right leader to guide us through this transition, and we are confident that HCCF will continue to thrive under her stewardship."

Reflecting on his time with HCCF, Kilian shared:

"Serving as president of Hamilton County Community Foundation has been an honor. Over the past seven-and-a-half years, we have built something truly special—a foundation that not only stewards community resources but also actively drives change. While stepping down is bittersweet, I know that our board, staff, and community partners are well-positioned to continue this journey. My family and I will continue to reside in Hamilton County, ensuring that our continued time, talent, and treasure assist in ensuring that every individual in Hamilton County has equitable access and opportunity to reach their full potential, no matter their place, race, or identity."

The foundation remains committed to its mission of fostering a community where every individual feels a sense of belonging, regardless of place, race, or identity.
