The Wayne County Foundation is proud to announce that Dr. David Jetmore is the recipient of the prestigious 2024 Charles A. Rodefeld Award, and Howard and Patty Lamson have been selected for the 2024 Ruth J. Wickemeyer Award. Both recipients are recognized for their outstanding contributions to philanthropy and their longstanding commitment to nonprofit initiatives in Wayne County.
Dr. Jetmore, an esteemed retired physician and community leader, has been an integral part of Wayne County’s philanthropic landscape for years. His dedication to service and improving the lives of others has earned him admiration from his colleagues and the community alike. He was nominated by Richmond Neighborhood Restoration.
Howard and Patty Lamson have also been pillars of the Wayne County community, contributing immeasurably to a wide variety of charitable causes with a focus on the Latino community. Their passion for giving and supporting those in need has been a driving force behind many local nonprofit organizations. They were nominated by Amigos Richmond Latino Center.
The selection committee had the difficult task of choosing from an exceptional group of candidates. However, Dr. Jetmore and the Lamsons stood out for their enduring impact and the positive influence they have had on Wayne County’s nonprofit sector.
"We are thrilled to recognize the incredible contributions made by Dr. Jetmore and the Lamsons," said Rebecca Gilliam, Executive Director for the Wayne County Foundation. Richmond Neighborhood Restoration and Amigos Richmond Latino Center will each receive a $5,000 unrestricted award from the Foundation in honor of their candidates being selected.
The Wayne County Foundation will host a special celebration in honor of Dr. Jetmore and the Lamsons at the annual Summer Celebration later this year. This event will provide an opportunity for the community to come together and recognize their outstanding efforts in making Wayne County a better place for all.
