Foellinger Foundation Announces One Million Dollar Grant to YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne to Manage Great KIDS make Great COMMUNITIES

Tuesday, March 10, 2020

Foellinger Foundation has announced a four-year $1,050,000 grant to provide support to Metropolitan Young Men’s Christian Association of Greater Fort Wayne (YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne) to manage Great KIDS Make Great COMMUNITIES (Great KIDS). In collaboration with Honorable Charles F. Pratt, Allen Superior Court Judge, and an appropriate community advisory committee, Great KIDS will now be managed as an independent entity by the YMCA.

Since 1999, Great KIDS has empowered youth-serving adults by providing education and training on the application of positive youth development frameworks and strength-based practices to ensure that our community’s children have the opportunities and relationships they need to grow into
productive and healthy adults.

The YMCA is dedicated to building programs for youth development, for healthy living and for social responsibility that promote strong families, character values, youth leadership, community development, and international understanding.

Foellinger Foundation supports effective organizations that work to strengthen children and families.

“The collaboration of these two organizations ensures a lasting impact on the lives of youth in families in Allen County,” said Cheryl Taylor, Foellinger Foundation President. “We are proud to provide this support as one of Foellinger Foundation’s Signature Grants.”

Foellinger Foundation has granted $11.4 million in support of both Great KIDS and YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne since 1980.
