Community Foundation of Randolph County Awards More than $51,000 in Spring Grant Cycle

WINCHESTER, INDIANA, May 10, 2024 – The Community Foundation of Randolph County presented checks totaling more than $51,000 to fifteen (15) non-profit organizations supporting Randolph County at their Spring Grants Reception on May 9th at Vision Corner Learning Center in Union City with a live-stream of the event provided by KISS Communications. The Foundation stewards its unrestricted dollars to assist non-profits in competitive grant cycles each spring and fall.

“We are proud to be the stewards of community resources that can continue to make Randolph County a better place to live, work and play,” Executive Director Lisa Jennings said. “These grants will inspire good and are milestones for improving our community.”

The Foundation’s Board of Directors approved the recommendations made by the Foundation’s Grants Committee, having reviewed applications based on established criteria and scoring. The following organizations received support through the 2024 Spring Grant Cycle:

• Art Association of Randolph County, $2,500 | To support the Two Languages Together: Reading, Art, Fellowship programming.
• Countryside Christian Church, $4,000 | To support the Summer Faith Concert, featuring Texas Star.
• Farmland Friends Food Pantry, $4,000 | To support the Most Important Meal of the Day program of food distributions.
• Gracie’s Gift, $2,000 | To support a spay-neuter program for felines in Randolph County.
• Monroe Central School Corporation, $2,000 | To support the purchase of new recess equipment at the elementary school.
• Preservation Society of Union City IN-OH, $6,000 | To support painting of a mural at the Body Company Museum.
• Randolph County United, $2,000 | To support technology updates, including OWL Technology.
• Randolph County YMCA, $4,000 | To support Y Summer Day Camp.
• Randolph Southern School Corporation, $2,000 | To support the Empowering Education: Introducing Sensory Rooms
• Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana, $5,000 | To support mobile distributions & a mobile market for Randolph County
• Start with Art, $2,000 | To support the Little Picassos program.
• State Line Heritage Days, $6,000 | To support this year’s festival.
• Union City Education Foundation, $2,000 | To support advanced guidance counseling for Randolph Eastern School Corporation
• Vision Corner, $4,000 | To support additional signage at the Vision Corner facility.
• Winchester Main Street, $4,000 | To support the Growing Downtown Winchester program, including the purchase of a sound system.

The next competitive grant cycle is scheduled for this fall with applications due by Monday, September 30th.
