Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County supports Raising Kind Kids program

Wednesday, November 1, 2017

The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc., is pleased to support professional development for early childcare providers and philanthropic education for preschoolers through a strategic grant to support the Raising Kind Kids program provided through the Youth Philanthropy Initiative of Indiana (YPII), an initiative of Indiana Philanthropy Alliance, in partnership with Delaware County BY5 Early Childhood Initiative and Huffer Resource and Referral Center. The strategic grantmaking program is an initiative of the Board of Directors of The Community Foundation, which links funding priorities to community needs.

About Raising Kind Kids

Raising Kind Kids is a special project of the Youth Philanthropy Initiative of Indiana (YPII) that introduces philanthropic concepts to preschool age youth through social-emotional learning about empathy and kindness. YPII is working directly with preschool sites and educators to incorporate “Super You: Make the World a Better Place,” preschool philanthropy lessons to help preschoolers identify as super heroes, using kindness to help others.

About the Community Foundation
The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc. is a publicly supported philanthropic institution governed by a volunteer board of local citizens. The Foundation manages contributions donated by individuals, businesses and corporations as a permanent community endowment.  Distributions from these funds are given back to the community in the form of grants to nonprofit organizations and agencies.
