Community Foundation of Morgan County Announces Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program Scholars
CFMC is proud to announce Cody Martin of Mooresville High School and Christina Li of Tabernacle Christian High School in Martinsville are this year’s recipients of Lilly Endowment’s Community Scholarship. My staff and I had the pleasure of surprising both students and their parents at their respective schools with the good news. It is so rewarding to see the reactions of these students and families when they hear this incredible news. Both Cody and Christina are superb students and natural leaders. Competition for this scholarship is grueling, but their applications, presentations, and interviews were a cut-above the other 120 applicants. We know they will go on to accomplish great things thanks to this scholarship.
"This scholarship is incredibly meaningful to me because it is not only going to allow me to attend my dream college, but it will allow me to stay close to family and not have to worry about how I'm going to finance my education. Because of this, I'll be able to put more time into working with clubs and organizations on and around campus to get involved in the community the same way that I've been able to at Mooresville. It's truly going to be so much more of a blessing than I could ever imagine," said Cody Martin.
"This scholarship means the world to me. It not only allows me to have financial freedom during my university years, but it also shows my school and my family that when you are truly diligent in God’s will and have His support, the possibilities are limitless," said Christina Li.
