Community Foundation Grants $29,500 During 12 Days Of Giving
(Dubois County, Indiana) Hummingbird Day Care is the winner of a $10,000 grant from Dubois County Community Foundation’s 12 Days of Giving. The Holland-based nonprofit day care ministry was one of 12 nonprofits selected for this year’s 12 Days of Giving. They received the most votes from the public via a Facebook event receiving over 200 of the total 1108 votes.
SWICACC, Southwestern Indiana Child Advocacy Center Coalition, received the second highest number of votes and will receive a $5,000 grant. Mentors for Youth finished third and will receive a $2,500 grant.
“We rallied the whole community,” Angie Sander, executive director of Hummingbird said. “This grant will help us in so many ways, including continued professional development of our staff, enhancement of our outdoor play area and hardship scholarship opportunities for families struggling financially,” Sander said.
A total of $29,500 was granted to local charities through the 12 Days of Giving initiative this year. The 12 grant recipients were chosen at random during a Facebook live event.
“12 Days of Giving is made possible by countless donors in this community who have chosen to give an unrestricted gift to The Fund for Dubois County,” Clayton Boyles, executive director of the Community Foundation said. “This initiative gets grants back into the county; seeing these top three organizations who are all serving the children in our community makes it extra special,” Boyles said.
