Community Foundation Awards Over $69,000 in Fall Grant Cycle

The Community Foundation of Randolph County presented checks totaling $69,113.49 to eighteen (18) non-profit organizations supporting Randolph County at the Thanks for Giving Annual Dinner on Thursday, November 14th, at Willow’s Edge Event Center near Winchester. The Foundation stewards its unrestricted dollars to assist nonprofit organizations through competitive grant cycles each spring and fall.


“We are proud to be the stewards of community resources that can continue to make Randolph County a better place to live, work and play,” Executive Director Lisa Jennings said. “These grants will inspire good and are milestones for improving our community.”


The Foundation’s Board of Directors approved the recommendations made by the Foundation’s Grants Committee, having reviewed applications based on established criteria and scoring. The following organizations received support from the 2024 Fall Grant Cycle:


•    American Red Cross, $5,000
o    For disaster services in Randolph County
•    A Community Christmas Corporation, $4,500
o    For a lease-to-own Christmas Light Show
•    Community Help Center, $5,000
o    For a new warehouse
•    Dylan Williams Forever An All Star Foundation, $1,375
o    For a bleacher project at Dylan Williams Memorial Park
•    Fountain Park Cemetery Association, $3,000
o    For restoration of the exterior fence
•    Historic Farmland USA, $2,500
o    For upgrades to windows at the Farmland Community Building
•    Huntsville Community Center, $3,000
o    For repair projects at the Center
•    Jay-Randolph Developmental Services, $1,000
o    For outdoor furnishings at residential sites
•    Lynn Friends Church, $2,700
o    For Randolph Southern Snack Packs program
•    PAWS Animal Rescue & Shelter, $3,000
o    For purchase and installation of interior gates, a windscreen, and security sensors
•    Phi Delta Kappa Foundation, $2,000
o    For Coats for Kids program
•    Randolph Central School Corporation, $5,000
o    For ParentChoice.org mental health project
•    Randolph County 4-H Future Needs Committee, $3,400
o    For improvement projects including rabbit, poultry, and goat barns
•    Town of Losantville, $10,000
o    For new HVAC system for the Community Building
•    Town of Modoc, $6,328.49
o    For modernization of Fire Department equipment
•    Winchester Area Churches & Community Food Pantry, $3,810
o    For the We’ve Got Milk! program
•    Youth Opportunity Center, $5,000
o    For Family Preservation Concrete Assistance for Randolph County residents
•    Youth Service Bureau of Jay County, $2,500
o    For supplies used in the BASE program


Grants were made possible from the generous support of the Foundation’s Community Enrichment Fund; the Riverstart Union Township Endowment Fund; the Union City Community Fund; the EDP Renewables Charitable Fund; the Chris & Doreen Culy Family Charitable Fund; the Rural Randolph Cares Agricultural Endowment Fund; the James & Linda Noffsinger Fund; the David & Lisa Jennings Charitable Fund; the Randolph County Heroes Fund; the Chip & Ruth Loney Fund; the Wick’s Employees Giving Fund; and the Joel & Jane Flesher Family Endowment Fund.
The next competitive grant cycle is scheduled for spring with applications due by the end of March 2025.
