The Central Indiana Senior Fund, a fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation, awarded grants to 24  senior-serving not-for-profits totaling $549,190. The Senior Fund advisory board selected organizations that are continuing to provide essential services to the senior community in Central Indiana during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We know supporting these organizations will allow crucial services to be provided during this global crisis.”

Central Indiana Senior Fund reassessed its 2020 grantmaking guidelines to effectively respond to emerging senior and organizational needs in response to the pandemic. COVID-19 has forced many seniors to isolate in their homes and created additional barriers for seniors to access basic needs. Grants focused on operating support to senior organizations in multiple Central Indiana counties, including the delivery of food for seniors.

“We’re committed to protecting the wellbeing of our senior population in Central Indiana and ensuring that all Hoosiers can live with dignity and self-worth during their later years.” said James Leich, chair of the Central Indiana Senior Fund. “We know supporting these organizations will allow crucial services to be provided during this global crisis.”
