On Saturday evening, October 20th, a crowd of donors, fund representatives, past and current board members, and friends of the foundation gathered at the Logansport/Cass County Airport to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Cass County Community Foundation.

Following a reception for former and current board members, foundation guests were welcomed by CCCF Board Chairman Bud Reed and entertained by the locally based Grace Scott Band. Special celebratory toasts were offered by former CCCF Board Chairs, Senator Randy Head, Thillia Reynolds, and Dr. Herb Price, highlighting the foundation’s growth and impact in Cass County.

Attendees were also treated to a performance by The Flying Toasters, an Indianapolis based band, and enjoyed delicious cuisine at several themed food stations provided by Vibrant Events Catering.

The evening highlight was the “You be the Grantmaker” drawing. Guests’ names were placed into a random drawing. Band member Jason Hayes drew the names of five individuals who would receive the privilege of naming one of seventeen organizations for the foundation to award a $5,000 grant. Individuals and the organizations selected were:

  • Lisa Clark----The Cass County Humane Society Endowment Fund
  • Patti Smith----Cass County 4-H Association Endowment Fund
  • Andrew Stephenson—Cass County Reading Railroad Endowment Fund
  • Mike Shannon---Domestic Violence Taskforce Endowment Fund
  • Kevin Reynolds—Logansport Firefighters Burnout Endowment Fund

Each organization selected will have the $5,000 added to their endowment to help them continue their good work and benefit Cass County. Deanna Crispen, CCCF President, thanked each of those present for their part in building the Community Foundation into a lasting resource For Good, For Ever.
