Carroll County Community Foundation Awards Nearly $800,000 to Nonprofits and Students in 2024

The Carroll County Community Foundation is proud to announce that it awarded $798,049.72 to local nonprofits and students in 2024, demonstrating its continued commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Carroll County.
"This significant investment in our community reflects the generosity of our donors and the vital role the Foundation plays in supporting local initiatives," said Jake Adams, Chair of the Carroll County Community Foundation Services Committee. "We're honored to facilitate this level of grantmaking, which will have a lasting impact on our nonprofits, students, and the broader community."
The funds were distributed through various grant programs and scholarships, supporting a wide range of community needs and educational pursuits. Examples of grants made in 2024 include:
- Grants from Unrestricted Community Endowment Funds - These flexible funds allow donors to entrust the Foundation with selecting programs that address evolving community challenges through a competitive grant process.
- $10,000 for Carroll County Council on Aging’s transportation program
- $5,000 for Wabash & Erie Canal to purchase a new park mower
- $25,000 for Childrens Garden Carroll County to complete kitchen
- $10,000 for Family Health Clinic of Carroll County for mobile trailer outreach

- Grants from Designated/Agency Funds - Designated funds provide consistent financial support for specific organizations identified by donors.
- $162,587.00 to Camp Tecumseh from the John Richard and Joan L. McCain fund for Camp Tecumseh
- $4,199.00 to Camden-Jackson Public Library from the Katheryn Weinberger Library Fund
- $1,665.00 to Carroll Co. Historical Society from the M.E. ‘Pete’ and Joan Jackson Community Fund

Additional grants were awarded through Field of Interest Funds, Donor Advised Funds, and Scholarship Funds aimed at advancing education and addressing targeted community priorities.
