CareSource, a leading multi-state managed care plan, announced Monday a donation of $180,000 to the Ready to Restart Program, administered by the Indy Chamber through its Business Ownership Initiative (BOI). The announcement was made by Steve Smitherman, Indiana Market President at CareSource.

Ready to Restart will help entrepreneurs and small business owners purchase necessary PPE and other health and safety-related items or services. In addition to funding PPE and health related items, CareSource will also support the administration of numerous other COVID-19 response initiatives led by the Indy Chamber.

“The only way we can continue to help small businesses in the midst of this turbulent time is through the support of organizations like CareSource,” notes Michael Huber, Indy Chamber President and CEO. “This investment will help hundreds of small businesses reopen and recover from the impact of COVID-19. We appreciate CareSource for valuing the health and vitality of our community.”

Small businesses in Indianapolis can apply for up to $5,000 in reimbursements for the purchase of necessary PPE or health and safety-related products and services. Eligible businesses include those within Marion County, Indiana with 150 or fewer employees. Qualified purchases include but are not limited to masks, hand sanitizer stations, partitions, disinfectants, or other purchases made to abide by social distancing guidelines while reopening.

“At CareSource, we believe in supporting both the health of our members and the surrounding communities they live in,” elaborated Smitherman. “We are proud to help our fellow Hoosiers through these unprecedented times as a partner of the Indy Chamber.”

Applications open June 11th and small businesses can compile their receipts at https://www.response.indychamber.com/restart-grant.
