The Community Foundation of Pulaski County (CFPC) is pleased to announce the founding of The Birdie Fund, the 114th fund held by the Foundation. The Birdie Fund is “Field of Interest” fund established by Steven and Leeann Wright to support environmental and wellness initiatives in Pulaski County.

The Birdie Fund can support, but is not limited to, projects and initiatives such as river clean up, native plant education, land stewardship, mental health programs, wellness and nutrition initiatives, and physical fitness programs. Steven noted, “We care deeply about Pulaski County and the quality of life here. Establishing this fund was our way of ensuring that great ideas to support the environment and wellness in the community have financial support. Whether that idea is a composting workshop, babysitting class, or other initiative – the fund is there to enrich the lives of Pulaski County residents.” Leeann shared, “This fund is our way of stepping up and showing our county how much we care. We are invested in the future of our community. It is our great hope and desire that others will join us in making a commitment to ensure that Pulaski County will continue to be a place where families can thrive and grow.”

Leeann, who is also the Executive Director of CFPC, stated The Birdie Fund will be eligible for grant applications in late 2025. CFPC’s financial policies require the initial gift to be invested for a full 12 quarters before a grant can be made. “These policies give the fund time to generate interest, which ensures the longevity of the fund,” she clarified. “The Foundation is here to support Pulaski County in perpetuity, which is why we have specific rules and procedures for endowed funds – we want them to be here permanently, generating financial support for all areas of the community in the years to come.”
