AWS Foundation, which supports people with enduring intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities, broke ground Tuesday for its new office building at 5323 W. Jefferson Blvd. Featuring a universal design model for people of all abilities, the new building is expected to open in November.

The 7,800 square foot space will support AWS Foundation’s growing advocacy and grant making activities. In addition, the region’s only fully accessible, sensory-friendly conference and training space will be available for organizations and groups whose mission advances an inclusive community.

“This new building reflects our long-term commitment to lead advocacy efforts and provide financial support to organizations that provide programs and services for individuals with enduring disabilities,” Larry Adelman, AWS Foundation Board chair, said in a statement.
