Welborn, a private foundation located in Evansville, IN, is seeking a forward-thinking leader to serve as the Healthy Communities Program Officer.
Created in 1999, Welborn is dedicated to cultivating communities that flourish with the well-being, abundance, and peace that God desires. Our mission encompasses advancing high-quality early education, healthy eating and active living, Christ‐centered communities, and building capacity in the nonprofit sector.
The Healthy Communities Program Officer (HCPO) will work to create impact through meaningful grantee partnerships, evidence-based initiatives, best practices, policy, systems, and environmental changes, cross-sector collaborative approaches, learning and data-driven practices, and nonprofit excellence support. This leader will engage with the community to support increased access to healthy foods and create new opportunities for residents to be physically active. Additionally, the HCPO will oversee Welborn’s Upgrade in Schools initiative.
Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree in health education, public health, health/public policy, health administration, or related field required (master's degree preferred) and have at least 5-7 years of nonprofit, grantmaking, grant writing, or other philanthropic experience.
Candidates must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to lead a team. Candidates should have a history of working effectively with diverse populations, a high level of community involvement, a commitment to a healthy lifestyle, and a collaborative approach to working with others.
