Navigating Difference (Three-Day Workshop)
Purdue Extension is pleased to offer Navigating Difference, an intensive cultural competency training, on July 7-9, 2021. This is a professional development workshop for those who work across diversity in communities and want to improve their intercultural effectiveness. (It is not a train-the-trainer to learn to teach the program to others.)
The 3-day workshop will be held at Canyon Inn at McCormick’s Creek State Park located at 451 McCormick Creek Park Road, Spencer, IN 47460.
Workshop dates and times are:
- Wednesday, July 7, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern with homework in the evening
- Thursday, July 8, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern with homework in the evening
- Friday, July 9, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM Eastern
The cost of this retreat experience includes all meals from lunch on Day 1 through lunch on Day 3 and all materials and instruction for $450. The registration fee does not include lodging. Please make your hotel reservations separately with the Canyon Inn by calling 877-922-6966 prior to June 9, 2021. We have reserved a block of rooms at $90.00 per night, plus tax and fees. All participants and trainers will continue to follow the guidance of the Indiana State Department of Health as well as local and Purdue policies around wearing face masks and practicing social distancing. Updated information will be shared in advance of the session. When planning your travel to the workshop and Spencer, Indiana, please note that Spencer is on Eastern Daylight Time.
