Arts Commission Provides Grants to Each of Indiana’s 92 Counties

Today, the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) announced that it has awarded grant funding in each of Indiana’s 92 counties in calendar year 2024. In 2024, the IAC introduced the Every County Funded grant program, which is an invitation-only program designed to support arts programming in Indiana counties that are not currently receiving support from IAC’s core grant programs. The Every County Funded program ensures that in every Indiana county, people and communities have access to arts experiences, and is part of a suite of new IAC opportunities focused on building and supporting qualify of life at the community level.


The Every County Funded program is designed to identify partners in target counties that are interested in strengthening arts activities in their community. The program builds relationships, cultivates connection to other communities growing creative activity, and provides ongoing mentorship and technical support. Each invited community was eligible to apply for up to $10,000 for a community-focused creative project or program. 


“Ongoing access to arts and creativity for all of Indiana’s people and communities is a goal for the Indiana Arts Commission,” said Miah Michaelsen, IAC Executive Director. “We are incredibly proud to support quality of life through enhancing the cultural, economic, and educational climate in each of the Hoosier State’s 92 counties.” 


The 2024 Every County Funded recipients include:  
•    Hagios, Inc. - Hagios Film Camp (Blackford County) 
•    Hartford City Arts Council - Musical Concert Series and Art Activities Free to the Public (Blackford County) 
•    Leavenworth Arts & Craft Association - Facility Expense & Art Supply Fund (Crawford County) 
•    Pekin Community Betterment Organization - Pekin Community Building Mural (Washington County) 
•    Perry County Public Library - Perry County Public Library's Musical Playground (Perry County) 
•    Streets of Monticello Association - Art on the Move, Crosswalk Beautification Project (White County) 
•    Sullivan County Public Library - Speaker Series, Revamping Theater, and Bringing Creatives into the Community (Sullivan County) 
•    Town of Mount Ayr - Mount Ayr Mural Project (Newton County) 
•    Union County 4-H Association - 4-H Art Program (Union County)  
•    Vermillion County 4-H - Clay & Connection (Vermillion County) 

The Streets of Monticello Association's Art on the Move, Crosswalk Beautification Project will provide the perfect canvas for local art students and artists who will be invited to submit their own designs for this public art initiative. The artwork will be seen by anyone that walks, drives, or bikes on Monticello streets. Grant funds will be used to provide artist materials.  
The Hartford City Arts Council will host a Musical Concert Series and Art Activities that will be free to the public. Funding will support a summer concert series, fall programming, holiday programming in the winter, and an Arts and Quilting show in the spring.
