The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette Appoints New President and CEO
At the December Board of Directors meeting of The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette (CFGL), Board members unanimously approved W. David Lasater to succeed Marianne Curtis Rose as President and CEO after announcing her retirement earlier this year. Rose has served The Foundation for the past six years as President/CEO and previously for nine years as Director of Development. Lasater will begin his new role on January 2nd.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the Greater Lafayette community as the next President and CEO of The Community Foundation,” Lasater said. “I look forward to continuing and building upon the legacy that The Community Foundation has established over the past 50 years.”
Lasater joins The Community Foundation after serving for the past six years at Purdue Research Foundation as Senior Associate Vice President for Advancement. Prior to this, Lasater worked at Purdue University for seven years in various capacities including Office of the President, Office of Vice President for Student Affairs, and Office of the Provost. He brings with him an extensive background in fundraising and marketing.
Lasater received a Doctor of Philosophy from Indiana University, a Master of Arts from The University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science from Ball State University. Locally, he has been involved with coaching youth sports, as well as serving on the Board of Directors for Red Storm Athletics. Professional associations include the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.

She has successfully led The Foundation during her tenure and we wish her the best in her retirement,” said David McGaughey, chairman of the CFGL Board of Directors. The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette, established in 1970, serves the Tippecanoe County area. Its mission is to inspire, nurture, and practice philanthropy, stewardship, and leadership in the communities served.
