Don Wood Foundation Announces Third Quarter Grant Recipients

The Don Wood Foundation, a private foundation dedicated to the advancement of manufacturing, entrepreneurship, and related education in the region, has issued 19 grants for area programs in the third quarter of 2023. These grants will help fund engineering technology education and encourage entrepreneurship and leadership for both traditional school-aged students and adults.

Recipients include Adams County Community Foundation, Inc. for the 8th grade Lit-STEM scholarship and precision machines 'boast tags'; Believe in a Dream, Inc. for Tech for Tomorrow; Be Noble, Inc. for Engage Noble; DeKalb County Central United School District for the Baron Advanced Manufacturing Program; East Allen Career Center for the EV Go-Cart Team; Grace College for Grace Engineering 2.0; Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana for JA JobSpark and JA JobSpark Virtual; Northeast Indiana Innovation Center, Inc. for Entrepreneurism for All Phase 1: Building Blocks; Northern Indiana Superintendents' Club for the Annual Convening of Superintendents; Ohio Northern University for the Don Wood Foundation Machine Shop and Advanced Metal Technology Laboratory; Science Central for the TOTS (Today's Observers, Tomorrow's Scientists) Program; Southwest Allen County Schools for SACS Industrial Technology; Taylor University for a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship; TeenWorks for TeenWorks and Catapult Partnership Muncie and TeenWorks and Catapult Partnership Fort Wayne; TekVenture Incorporated for their move to the Fort Wayne Enterprise Center; TROY School for the Troy Advanced Manufacturing CTE Scholars; and The Women's Fund for their Economic Security Initiative.

"Students of every age should have the opportunity to explore STEM fields and develop skills to be successful in these areas.
